Morning @ Queen Vic Market

definitely not beef.

got our coffee to go and wander around the market.

Back to the cafe once again and chill.

cutest guy we spotted in the cafe!

part 2 brighton beach coming up next!
So there’s snow. And so there’s snowflakes. And so we’re learnt how to ski. And so we’re freezed to death. And so we ended the day with such wonderful sunset.
It’s all worth it.
The ski trip @ Mt Buller.

Took the ride twice. Wee :)

Ah. Sunset. How gorgeous.

p/s: all photos taken with iphone4
pp/s: of course we didnt take any pictures while we’re ski-ing. I mean duh.
Blink it.
SUPER OVERDUE I KNOW! I better clear it before the end of 2011! Let’s back track to August shall we?
*rewind*
We’re going to the zoo zoo zoo!
So we visited The Werribee Open Range Zoo! Wild animals running around freely while the humans are caged up in a moving vehicle! Definitely worth trying though is a bit far from the city and of course, it cost a little.
But hey, on a bright side, you don’t get to experience it in Singapore. So WHY NOT eh?
First thing first, breakfast!

And off we go for some adventure!

Kangaroos pigging out!

Wild emu walking around #likeaboss

And all of a sudden, there was a wild emu right beside me. ONLY 2CM AWAY FROM ME.

pigging out again.

Hope on the cage bus and off we go! :D

Moving on to the lions!

Like this :) so cute!

We are family!

Spotted wild kangaroos and decided to go even closer to pat them! #failbecausetheyarewild

That’s all from the zoo!
Till then, let’s skii! Yup, there’s snow in Melbourne. Interesing eh?
p/s: took quite alot of photos but most of them are either out of the frame or blur. Still not good with moving parts/animals. Will work hard on this issue.
pp/s: try out new vintage filter and is called the hipster edit :)
So today we visited Sovereign Hill @ Ballarat.
This is the place where I get to touch gold directly from the mine. Yes, gold baby, GOLD. Photo flood!
Started off with a gloomy day but thank god it doesnt last long :)
Main entrance.

Old shop houses along the street.

School trip!

First thing first, food needed.

Lovely pie!

And off we go, visiting one shop to another!

Let’s play dress up!

#regretneverbuythis 1

#regretneverbuythis 2

Some dude cutting the metal plate.

Messy but I love it.

You will find alot ppl dressing up, even the kids too!

Bought some candies too!

Demo time!

See! They’re everywhere! :D

Lunch time!

And off we go again!

Hand written.

#regretneverbuythis 3

Told them to continue their conversation instead of posing for my camera.

Do remember to take a horse ride here!

I love old wooden church.

Vintage bowling alley!

Marching parade.

All dressed up for the marching event.

And that’s all for Sovereign Hill!
Dinner time @ Pho Mekong. It’s a Vietnamese restaurant and boy the place was freaking crowded. Reason being - awesome good food.
The only place where no food sharing needed. Asian portion.

I love this! Never thought it will be that crunchy!

Droooool.

Ended the night with some dessert and coffee talk @ Brunetti, finest pastry shop in Melbourne.

And that’s all about day 8.
Next, we’re going to the zoo zoo zoo! :)
Day 7!
Finally decided to pay a visit to Queen Victoria Market only to realise, it was close on Wednesday. Bravo to us.
Me: I thought you checked it?
LJH: Well, the book says open from Sunday to Tuesday and Thursday to Saturday.
Me: Wednesday is missing.
LJH: Let’s go grab something to eat!
Me: sigh *grab hair*
So we decided to grab a bite at a nearby boutique hotel + restaurant. Boy, it was a blessing in disguise I would say :) The food was amazing, especially those roasted mushrooms! I am definitely missing it right now.
Before I decided to flood this post with tons of pictures, here’s the itenerary for day#7: Queen Victoria Market - Docklands - City Laneway - Eureka Skydeck 88
@ a very empty Queen Victoria Market (more info in later post)

Breakfast @ Jasper Restaurant.

Learnt our lesson hard and thus, we decided to share our food instead.

I want those roasted mushrooms, badly.

Me like raspberry :D

Decided to take the city tram car to Docklands! Love the vintage interior + exterior *it’s free btw*

@ Docklands.
The famous Webb Bridge.

Walking to DFO. (Intro: DFO also knowns as Direct Factory Outlet. Click here and here for more info.)
Imma stalk old couple :)

Anyway, no pictures while shopping at DFO simply because, there’s nothing fancy about it. All malls look the same anyway.
And now, walking back to the city from Docklands!

@ Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre

Stranger’s bike.

Purchased our tickets from Eureka Skydeck 88 (our sunset view later) and decided to chillax at this cafe right next to it. What attract me most is this:

So we decided to give it a try.
Lovely mocha. Well, championship barista indeed.

Crossed the river and heading back to Flinders to undiscover the beauty of city laneway.

@ City Laneway. I LOVE IT.

Cute dude with hair looks like Bruno Mars.

@ The Block Arcade

@ Hopetoun Tea Rooms. Too bad we didnt get a chance to try the cakes. Better luck next time.

@ some random restaurant. Wall filled with picuters!

@ Eureka Skydeck 88 to witness the gorgeous sunset.

interior @ the skydeck.

Brave through the strong wind for this.

Took The Edge with him and totally love the experience. No cameras are allowed though. Hence, no pictures taken.
Strangers feet.
]
Here comes the sunset.

Magnificent.
And lastly, dinner @ Grill’d.

the interior.

Choose your sauce while ordering.

Menu + info + history of the restaurant.

Decided to dine outside.

End of day 7.
Till then, adious! :)
Day 6!
*half way through* We were counting down our days in Melbourne and totally dread going back. There’s so many places to visit and so many things to do, but sad to say - we have so little time. Oh well, there’s always next time :)
Itinerary day#6: Puffing billy @ Belgrave - Queen Victoria Gardens
Puffing Billy was amazing! It is a historical steam train still running regularly in the mountain district. What an unexpected experience to ride on a steam train after decades. Truly remarkable :)
Changing train from Ringwood to Belgrave and the journey begins.

And that’s the end of day 6!
Sneak Preview of day 7: Sunset @ Eureka Sky Tower
